Baekmiri Tidal Flat 백미리어촌체험마을 and Ansan Multicultural Street Market 안산다문화마을특구

After leaving our warm and cozy pension at Yeouldo in Daebudo, we went to next destination Baekmiri which is famous of its tideland and seafood it takes  one hour to get to the here by bus from Seoul. This village was named Baekmi or Baekmi-ri because of different taste presented by its seafood.

The endless tidelands nearby Baekmiri Village serve as an important course of resources for the local people while allowing tourists to discover and observe various maritime organisms. Here visitors can enjoy by getting their feet and hands dirty with mud while searching for short neck clams, oyster or even catch octopus. We also seen lot of korean middle aged woman and men going with their fishing net and rods, while we were on our way to the clam hunting area. since its so wide we use elephant bus 꼬끼리버스 to reach the area along with another visitors too.

For 1 hours you can collect as much as clams here, but well since we aren't pro in this field, most of us only could find half bag of clams. The ahjumma's were so kind to show us how to search for the clams and even give it to us too... what a kind hearted ahjumma kk

They also provide us with plastic sealed bags and sea water to keep it fresh and safe until we went home.

Near baekmiri there are lot of seafood restaurants provides variety of menu to be choosen. we had spicy soup 매운탕 it taste so delicious, the broth not fishy or leave any aftertaste!! believe me its not spicy at all.

Ansan is small city located just an hour subway ride away from downtown. even in the subway train to go to  Ansan station you will be amazed with number of foreigner in the train. To come here just stop at Ansan Subway Station Line 4 and across the street you will find the multicultural street market. Ansan have a lot of factory and company, and most of the workers come from different countries and cultural background and of course food!!

Soon after you arrived in this area, you will felt the different atmosphere here, almost all area filled with small shops, restaurant, and marts from all over asia. Indonesian, Mongolian, Vietnamese, Russian, Thai, Indian, Nepalese, Uzbek, Pakistani, Cambodian, Bangladeshi, Burmese, and Sri Lankan restaurants all of this country dish can be easily found here. Its not my first visit to Ansan. I have visit it several times for buying Indonesian groceries or for eat at the restaurant. Compared to Itaewon what so claimed as the international zone its far more cheaper here.

Gyeonggi Tourism Kind enough to gave us 15000 won to buy anything we want to bought. Yeey!!! Thanks GG!! Im not in the mood for having another heavy meals because we just had our lunch 1 hour before at baekmiri, so we just went to the asian mart and decided to have Thailand sticky rice with manggo... sadly we couldn't found any during the limited time given, but well in the end we went to vietnamese restaurant for springrolls and dessert. I love the springrolls and the dessert i will definitely come back again for exploring more international food at Ansan!
