What we do for beauty - buried in sawdust spa at Healingtopia Hinoki Enzym Bath

We live and work in a world where people judge your value in seconds or less, i think this is the main reason why woman have to care about how us look and sometimes made us try various different way to make us look better.



From soaking in hot pools, painful massages, luxurious resort spa, or even taking an extreme way. But for something completely weird that you won’t find at home is the "Hinoki Enzyme Bath at Healingtopia".

 Healingtopia located in the Seongnam area, that can be easily reached from Gangnam area. From Cheongyesan Ib-gu Station 청계산입구역 Sinbundang (red) line exit 2 you can either take bus number 4432 for 10 mins (4 bus stations) and stop at Yetgol 옛골 bus station then walk around 500 meters or take a taxi (4500~krw) to Healingtopia.

Most of the interior here are made out of cypress wood and eco-friendly materials. It is a one stop hinoki based healing center concept spa that have cafe, body type correction center, walking trail, and a forest garden located behind the building.

 We tried the basic course (80 mins duration - 50.k krw). When you first came to the healingtopia, you will be asked to keep your shoes at the locker and take the key with you, This key will be the same key that you use for keeping clothes and belongings in the dressing room. A cup of warm hinoki tea that surprisingly taste so good will also be served. No need to be surprised as you will be given a disposable underwear with the sauna outfit because you will be buried into the sawdust later. Defo not your regular bath of warm water in which you wallow with petals floating around

The first treatment in basic course is heat resonance soil bath,we lied on a hot floor in a room where all four walls are covered in cypress wood and yellow clay named gongmyeongto. This yellow clay stores and radiates a lot of heat in the form of far-infrared rays. These heat penetrate the body and stimulate an increase in body core temperature. It feels much like in the sauna where you lie down, perspire and feel lighter after it.

Next treatment is germanium cold bath place. After sweating and having hot room this is super nice. Since the heat make engorge u'r pores here you will be pampered with hinoki mask. As a big fan of phytoncide i find this place super relaxing.

After 20 mins in the germanium room we got the foot bath germanium box. This the least of my fave for this course because i can't feel so much different after this course.

The enzyme bath was done just after the foot bath. Here you need to be buried through to a giant tub full of steaming sawdust. The spa ahjussi will dig you "a grave" and there you lie then you’ll be covered over with just your head poking out. The natural enzyme mixed with cypress sawdust is fermented and yeah its hot girls! you need to stay there for 20 mins as your body is covered by hot sawdust, your body hottt.

This will increase the metabolism and improving ur circulation and the enzyme clean through your skin leaves it with radiant glow. Sounds too good to be true? i'm  kinda skeptical when i first heard this benefit until i did it!!! Girls this is super good, my skin looks more healthy and radiant, yet it makes my super dry skin feeling so soft and supple.

I should have came here last winter!!  As for 50.0krw this is one of the experience that you may want to try while visiting Korea. Lets get beauty together gurls!

Place to visit nearby - Hello Audrey

As we leave healingtopia with growling stomach we decided to go to Hello Audrey, a pasta house near Pangyo station, the food were nice, the ambiance also good, but kinda noisy maybe because it was lunchtime. I love spicy food so i ordered the spicy crab pasta that turned out only has mild spicyness but it still taste good.

Green Grass Cafe

This cafe located just in the front of Hello Audrey. They offered wide selections of coffee and non coffee beverages as well as cake selections. We ordered Carrot cake, Mille Crepe Cake, and Rainbow cake and all of them taste good and not too sweet. The cafe isn't too big to accommodate lot of people but thanks to the cafe owner we managed to get big table for us. I ordered matcha latte but to be honest as a matcha lover, this is not the one i will recommend but the einspanner, tea and coffee were good.
