Suwon Hwaseong Fortress 수원 화성 - An Unesco Heritage Sites

If you visit Suwon, you can experience lots of things made by King Jungjo in the Joseon Dynasty. One of it was Suwon Hwaseong Fortress which constructed for honouring his father Crown Prince Sado. 

The rumour said that he was suffered from mental illness. Being accused of randomly killing people in the palace also a serial rapist . Prince Sado was sentenced to die at the locked rice storage by his own father in 1762. Until now Sado's death remains debates as wheather his death was retribution of his actual misconduct, or he was only a victim of conspiracy by the opponent of his political party.  

Although the fortress still have the same concepts like another fortresses in Korea, Hwaseong has another plus because of the crossbow towers, artillery, and massive millitary compounds that included into it. 

You can also write your wish and tie it in the 200 years tree inside the palace 

 it was snowing during that time make it more romantic 

  there are lot stamps you can collected during palace tour too

Today the fortress wall still remains almost as the original structure as it was constructed 200 years ago. 
There are lot of building inside the fortress, for 1500 krw you can walk along the trails  measuring 5.7 km long. I recommend you to wear your comfort shoes and of course warm padding jacket so you wont freeze yourself.
Soon after you reach the top you can ring the bell 3 times and take picturesque panorama view of suwon 

Luckily there was a performance when we went there. the martial arts ahjussi's with their costume and the gate as the background.. i feel like watching korean historical drama... >.<

near Hwaseong we found this beautiful street full of unique cafe

And of course the one you dont want to missed if you visit hwaseong or suwon, Korean Beef Ribs or Galbi. Suwon galbi was known for its tender and delicious also large strips of galbi  and Yeonpo Galbi which is so famous here in Suwon. I could say this is one of the best Galbi for sure! Make sure you visit this place if you come to Korea.

Transportation
By Subway get off at Suwon Station (Seoul Subway Line 1) Take Bus 2, 7, 7-2, 8, or 13 and get off at Jongno 4-geori intersection bus stop. Walk around 5-minutes to fortress.
