Suncheon is well known ad the ecological capital city in Korea. Its natural ecosystem has remained completely untouched and globally recognized for its ecological value. Located 4 hours from seoul by train or bus (its really depends on the traffic conditions). Almost all main attractions here are natural attractions such as river, ecological park, or mountains. If you like non-mainstream place and want some healing trip this may be for you.
1. Suncheon Open Film Set 순천 드라마 세트장
The filming location includes 200 buildings and streets build to recreate korean life in 1960s Suncheon downtown street, 70s Seoul Bongcheon shanty town, or 80s Seoul suburban downtown set. Take a trip back to the 60s themed downtown of Suncheon.
For more extra fun, you can rent old korean school uniform from those era too as cheap as 2500 krw for 50min.

2. Suncheon Cultural Street 순천 문화의거리
If Seoul has insadong then cultural street it is for Suncheon its 6km (40mins by bus) from the drama filming sites. And its pretty because of the golden colour of ginko leaves lined the street. A lot of beautiful architecture and cafe but of course less touristy as insadong.
3. Suncheonman Bay National Garden 순천만국가정원
The only man-made garden designated as National park by Korean Government. Its huge to be called as garden >.< There are two entrances, one at pungdoek-dong and one at ocheon dong. They have world themed garden such as korean garden, chinese garden, french garden with different activities and experiences. We tried to make our own traditional fragrance and soap out of traditional herb and it was fun! We walk around 2 hours but couldnt finished the whole garden.

4. Suncheon Bay Wetland Reserve
Suncheon known as the best wetland area in Korea, home to the best foreshore and kingdom to the reeds plant in Korea. Its offer the beautiful scenic view of the bay with almost 37 acres of reeds growing, mud skippers, crab, and more than 140 species of protected rare birds. You can also climb the yongsan observatory for the bird-eyed view of the bay.
Suncheon area also famous for the salt you can get the salt at the souvenir shop near exit gate.
